Magical Research

Copy spells into spell book up to 9 levels per day (can use magic or influence to decrease time needed) DC 20+spell level if using spell book DC 15+ spell level if using scroll

Cost 0 5 gp 1 10 gp 2 40 gp 3 90 gp 4 160 gp 5 250 gp 6 360 gp 7 490 gp 8 640 gp 9 810 gp

Magical capital can of course be spent to write spells

Spell research

Days required = spell level x5

Cost 100 gpx spell level – may use magic (100 gp) or goods (20 gp)

Spellcraft DC 10+spell level roll 1 per day 1 magic or 5 goods to increase by +1 (Max 

1 point of magic used reduces research for new spells/crafting magic items by 1 day per point spent – minimum 1 day research

 

Gather Information

Use diplomacy to gather information takes 1d4 hours but other downtime checks take a -4 penalty on that day only

Use 1 day of downtime make 3 diplomacy checks

Use 1 day of downtime and 1 influence make 3 checks at +5 bonus
